Singapore Sling

I was challenged by a friend to make my first Singapore Sling, and after realizing one evening the only ingredients I had at home were actually perfect for the cocktail, I gave it a go. I am not sure it turned out as well as it could, but it was a fun endeavor. The portrait is as if a lady on holiday.

I think my homemade grenadine made it the color of mud. It was very good, however. Of course, I did not write down the recipe at the time, but it's something like this:

1 oz gin
.5 oz triple sec
.5 oz Water Hill cherry liqueur
.5 oz fresh lime juice
.5 oz homemade grenadine
2 oz pineapple juice
1 dash Angostura bitters, orange slice and cherry garnish

If you decide to make one of your own, let me know how it goes. Cheers and Sláinte!
