Something new I learned today is that Martin Luther King Jr. was not only concerned about lifting people out of poverty, he was also concerned with relative wellbeing -- that if the collective prospers, each person should prosper in direct proportion. Relative wealth and wellbeing, so that we all share in prosperity.
Well, something like that anyway. It reminds me of how society should be in the very fabric of its essence. concerned for the wellbeing of all people, relative to each other.
I'll work on articulating this more clearly in the future, but for now, this is the highlight of my MLK Day.
